Initial Interest

When someone expresses interest in adopting one of our rescue pets (dog or cat), we begin by gathering information about the potential adopter and their household. This helps us understand whether the environment is suitable for the pet's welfare and long-term wellbeing.

Vetting & Screening

We ask 10-11 vetting questions to assess alignment between the adopter's lifestyle and expectations and the specific needs and personality of the pet. This step is important because every rescue animal has unique emotional and medical needs. We are always okay if an application does not proceed – however, we do not compromise on what our rescues need. We invest significant time, care, and resources into their recovery, so it is essential that they are placed only in homes that are truly the right fit.

Meet & Greet
If the vetting stage is successful, we arrange a meet-and-greet.

This allows us to observe the interaction and energy between the pet and the potential adopter.
It also gives adopters the opportunity to better understand the pet's behavior and personality.

Preparation Period

Once the meet-and-greet goes well, we give the adopter time to prepare their home. This may include purchasing essentials such as: food and bowls, litter or bedding, toys and enrichment items, safety or comfort accessories. This ensures the pet transitions into a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Pick-Up & Paperwork

When the adopter is ready, the pet is picked up and the adoption form is signed to officially complete the adoption process.

Post-Adoption Follow-Up

We remain in touch with adopters during the first month through messages or calls every few days. This allows us to: check how the pet is settling in, offer guidance and support where needed, ensure the transition is smooth for both the pet and family.
